CELIA GRATEROL
During her work with the Health program at San Francisco State University, Ms. Graterol
developed her technical skills while conducting needs assessments, planning
programs, designing evaluations, and developing curricula. For the last five years, Ms.
Graterol directed and conducted evaluations using creative and innovative web-based
approaches integrating technology and graphic arts with evaluation techniques. Ms.
Celia Graterol co-founded two consulting companies (Prosperitas Consulting and
Abundantia Consulting, LLC) and co-invented the Logic Map, a web-based system to
conduct evaluations, assessments and strategic planning. Until recently, Ms. Graterol
worked as the Associate Executive Director of Canal Alliance, a community-based
organization serving the very low-income, largely immigrant Canal neighborhood of San
Rafael, Marin County, California. For almost ten years, Ms. Graterol held several roles of
leadership and management positions at San Francisco State University including the
Education Director for the Bay Area Homelessness Program, Lecturer and Senior
Research Associate for the Department of Health Education, and Communications
Director for the Office of Community Service Learning. In Venezuela, Ms. Graterol was a
software developer and a social worker creating health programs in small villages
(Spanish speaking). In the United States, Ms. Graterol has provided critical
communications support for local and statewide initiatives by offering appropriate
levels of electronic and web based accessibility for community members, students,
faculty, community-based organizations and policymakers.
Originally from Venezuela, Ms. Graterol received her BS in Computer Engineering from
the Simón Bolívar University, Caracas, with specialization in information systems,
relational databases, computer graphics and statistics.
