She was part of the team that developed Marin's "Moving Forward-A 25-Year
Transportation Vision for Marin County," leading to the successful passage of
Measure A, a half-cent transportation sales tax. She now has a hand in overseeing
Marin's Safe Routes to Schools Program, developing the Marin City Transportation
Plan, and funding local bike and pedestrian projects. She has two young children
and enjoys her husband's home-roasted coffee.

Carey is a graduate of nearby Sonoma State University with a degree in
Environmental Studies and Urban Planning. She got her professional start as a
planner reviewing development proposals for the County of Marin for four years before
becoming a Senior Transportation Planner.
