The Equal Voice Leadership Academy (EVLA) is a 4-month/6-session educational
program designed to provide methods, develop skills, and strengthen
technological competencies that assist participants in serving as leaders in their
communities.
Members of the EVLA have the opportunity to learn about different aspects of
community organizing and policy advocacy, to experiment with various technology
tools, and to exchange knowledge around common issues affecting working
families and underrepresented communities.
EVLA participants are community members working for social change as active
members of grassroots groups and organizations, such as school PTAs,
community committees, Parent Site Councils, and Nonprofit Boards and staff.
Graduates of the EVLA are equipped with enhanced leadership skills and
connections to other community members, organizations, and influential decision
makers, becoming part of a growing network of grassroots leaders!
